Hi, my name is Charles Kaluwasha. Today we celebrate 7 years at CJ Investiments Ltd. We launched our company with my wife Joyce, hence the name C J Investiments to invest in properties and also help others follow in our footsteps. Our first investments were 2 bedroom units and 1 bedroom unit in Melbourne, giving up $445,000 per week each. Then we purchased a four-bedroom townhouse in Pimpama, Gold Coast, giving us $630,000 per week. Then, the Covid-19 pandemic struck us in 2019. Tenants were not getting paid and could not afford to pay their rentals. The government advised all the landlords not to evict tenants but negotiate for lower rents. We dropped them to $330 per week. We suffered a loss until late 2023.
During that time, we had a strategy to supplement our investment income by collaborating with other entrepreneurs. Developed website development product called PLAPOL https://plugandprofit.online, JV with SGM Entrepreneur Development Circles of Zambia to provide entrepreneurial skills and basic business skills. A joint Venture with 4 Australian investors to build a 12-unit school accommodation in Zambia near Lusaka University. Another JV was an African Language Academy Australia with 5 other co-founders to teach African Languages https://alaa.com.au and it is working well. With other investors across four countries—Australia, Zambia, the UK and India—we developed a crowdfunding platform to help entrepreneurs source funds for their projects: https://peerbizzcapital.com/ Our latest product is an agriculture app known as AgroLife to help farmers manage their farms effectively.
